What you need

    • Remove the left ear cushion that has the microphone from the headset.

    • Use a Phillips #0 screwdriver to remove the four 5 mm screws securing the plate.

    • Using a screwdriver with a magnetic tip is helpful.

    • Gently remove the tape holding the black wire.

    • Separate the speaker from the ear cup to reveal the battery.

    • Be careful when separating the speaker from the ear cup, as the speaker wire is connected to the motherboard.

    • Inspect the connection to ensure the battery is connected securely to the motherboard.

    • If the connector is loose or disconnected, secure the connection and attempt to power on the device.

    • If your headphones are not working after checking the connector, proceed to the next step.

    • It may take a lot of alternating before the connector comes out. Be patient, and don't pull on the cables.

    • Use a nylon spudger to loosen the adhesive beneath the battery.

    • Remove the battery.

    • Properly dispose of the battery.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.
