Introduction

If you find that the front tire of your Trek FX 2 is warped or damaged in some way that needs replacing use this guide.

The tires of any bike are hands down one of the most important parts on there and if they get damaged use of the bike becomes difficult. In order to avoid needing to go to a costly repair shop I made this guide to show the easy and simple steps needed in order to remove the front tire from a Trek FX 2.

What you need

1. Step 1 Front Wheel
  Loosen the screw on the side of the tire by the brake.
  
  There is a silver screw on the other side of the tire which should be left alone. That is just there to hold the piece that has threading for the main screw onto the bike.

3. Step 2
  After loosening the screw a bit, slide it all the way out.
  
  Removing this screw fully detaches the wheel from the bike frame. Support both the bike and the wheel to prevent either from falling.
  
  If you wish to reuse the screw, make sure to not scrape the threading too much as this could strip the screw of the threads.

4. Step 3
  Slide the tire down and away from the bike.
  
  Do not press the brakes while the tire is removed as this could cause damage to them.
