What you need

    • Open the hood by using the hood release lever located on the driver's side below the dashboard.

    • Open the hood of the truck using the hood release mechanism located towards the center of the truck.

    • Lift the prop and place it in its designated hole in the hood.

    • The battery is located on the driver's side of the engine compartment.

    • Loosen the 11mm nut on the collar holding the black wire to the negative terminal of the battery.

    • Lift up vertically on the wire and remove it from the battery contact pin.

    • Get underneath the truck at this location.

    • Cut the red wire in the space between the fender and the bed using a wire cutter.

    • Open the bed to gain access to the broken light.

    • Use a Phillips #2 screwdriver to remove the two screws holding the light enclosure to the bed.

    • Remove the rubber backing on the light enclosure.

    • Place the rubber backing on the new light enclosure.

    • Wire the new enclosure's terminal leads through the hole in the bed.

    • Check underneath of bed to ensure that the wires are hanging freely below the bed in the same area as the wires in step 4.

    • Put blue locktite on screws to keep them in place.

    • Screw new enclosure into place using a Phillips #2 screwdriver.

    • Cut the new leads to the desired length underneath the truck.

    • Strip the wires using a wire stripper.

    • Wrap the exposed ends of the wires together, being sure to only connect alike colors.

    • Wrap the exposed wire in electrical tape to protect against the elements.

    • Reconnect the negative lead to the battery.

    • Tighten the collar using an 11mm wrench.

    • Close hood ensuring that the prop is placed in the designated clip.

    • Test the new light by flipping the switch on the dashboard of the truck.
