Introduction
I'm about to show you how to change the blade on a Toro 22-inch Recycler lawnmower. It's a relatively simple process that should take only a few minutes. A socket wrench with a 5/8-inch bit, and a brick or a piece of wood are all that's required. Just make sure to drain the gas, put the lawnmower on its side, stabilize the blade, and unhook the sparkplug wire. In only a few minutes, your Toro lawnmower will be producing a well-manicured lawn on a hot, sunny summer afternoon.

Put the lawnmower on its side, drain the gas, and make sure the lawnmower is tilted so the oil dip stick is down, preventing the oil from seeping into the air filter.

It's important to remove the sparkplug wire from the sparkplug so there's no chance that the lawnmower starts during the removal process.

We'll need to keep the blade stable as we're trying to loosen the nut so we'll need an object that keeps the blade in place. A brick is one option.

A small piece of wood is another option to keep the blade stable.

A socket wrench loosens the blade attachments. Attach a 5/8-inch bit to the socket wrench and we're ready to loosen the nut.

Turning the wrench to the left, we'll loosen the nut.

Now that the blade has been removed and the necessary repairs have been made, you're ready for a nice afternoon under the sun and prepared to spruce up the lawn.
