Introduction
The Surface Go models use a soldered-down eMMC or NVME SSD, which can be replaced if you have the necessary BGA rework skills.

Follow the steps in the screen replacement guide up until you have removed the screen

The NVME (128GB or 256GB) models use a BGA291 PCIE 3.0 SSD, which has the NAND and SSD controller on the same chip. This one is a Kioxia BG4 256GB chip

The eMMC models (64GB) use a different ball layout (BGA153)
-
Remove the chip using hot air rework and flux

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
