Introduction
If your mouse scrolls erratically, skips inputs, or fails to respond when you rotate the wheel, the issue may be caused by a worn or damaged scroll wheel mechanism. Over time, dust buildup and repeated use can degrade the internal encoder, leading to inconsistent scrolling performance. If the scroll wheel in your SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless mouse is no longer functioning properly, it may need to be removed and replaced with a new one.
In this guide, we'll show you how to safely replace the scroll wheel in your SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless gaming mouse.
Check the troubleshooting pages to confirm your mouse needs a new scroll wheel.
Warning: To access the scroll wheel, you’ll need to carefully open the mouse casing to expose the internal components and avoid any possible damage.
Make sure to power off the mouse and remove the batteries before beginning the replacement or working with any internal components.
