Introduction
If your gaming mouse has trouble powering on or frequently disconnects, it may be due to faulty or depleted batteries. Batteries will display inconsistent performance through repeated usage. If the batteries in your SteelSeries Rival 3 Wireless are not holding a charge, they will need to be removed and replaced with new batteries.
Before replacing the batteries in your mouse, check the troubleshooting pages to confirm your mouse needs new batteries.
Warning: Damaged or leaking batteries can lead to safety risks and should be handled carefully.
Make sure to power off the mouse completely before beginning the battery replacement or handling any internal components.

Flip the mouse upside down.

Locate the wireless mode switch on the bottom.

Slide it to the OFF position.

Place two fingers on the rear top section of the mouse shell.

Apply light pressure and slide the battery cover downward (toward you).

Slide off the cover and lift away.

Remove the two AA batteries.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
