What you need

    • Pinch the right ear pad cushion and gently pull it away from the ear cup to remove it.

    • Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the four 4.0 mm screws from the outer ear plate.

    • Using even pressure around all edges, gently pull the black outer ear plate away from the cup of the earphone.

    • The plastic is fragile, so it is important not to force the removal. It may be helpful to use the opening tool or spudger to pry around the edge of the outer ear plate.

    • Use a Phillips #1 screwdriver to remove the four 3.0 mm screws from the inner ear plate.

    • Gently grasp the black inner ear plate and pull it away from the cup of the earphone, exposing the internal components.

    • The internal components are still attached to the wires, which are glued into the inner ear plate. Be extremely careful not to pull on the wires while performing this step.

    • Push on alternating sides of the JST connector, to release it.

    • If that doesn't work, use a pair of tweezers to firmly grip the sides of the battery connector and pull straight away from the socket. Hold the tweezers closer to the connector to get a better grip.

    • Avoid scratching the circuit board or damaging any wires in the process.

    • If this step is not performed, the cord connected to the circuit board may still carry an electrical current, creating a risk of electric shock or damage to the board.

    • Using the #1 Phillips head screwdriver, unscrew and remove the two 3.0 mm screws that hold the circuit board in place.

    • Using your fingers or a pair of tweezers, gently grasp the circuit board and lift it out of the ear cup.

    • You will not be able to remove it completely because the wires are still connected.

    • If possible, place the circuit board in the Helping Hands or a safe place to desolder the speaker wires.

    • The next step shows the speaker wires being desoldered while the board is still inside the ear cup. However, it is easier and safer to solder away from the headphones.

    • Use a soldering iron to remove the 4 wire connections below the inner plate.

    • With the bottom of the headphone facing you, the wires are connected left to right in this order: black wire --> green, copper | white wire --> red, copper.
