Introduction

The batteries in Sony® Handycams can sometimes require changing, either because they are overused and don't hold a charge, or because they have corroded (happens rarely). You can also have multiple batteries and be changing between them when they run out, without waiting for the camera to recharge.

Step 1 Battery

Place thumb on the ridge of the battery door hatch.
Apply pressure horizontally to easily slide the door off.

Step 2

Using your thumb, push the small blue fastening clip down.
Slide old battery out of camera.
Release the blue fastening clip.

Using your thumb, push the small blue fastening clip down.
Slide the new battery into the camera.

Push battery door down so it is level with the original positioning.
Slide door shut.

Conclusion

Improper seating of the battery can lead to memory loss and even corruption, replacing a battery can be a simple way to solve sudden crashes of the device.
