Your camera's case may be damaged or you may wish to access parts below it. This guide with explain how to safely remove the case so that it, or a new one, can be placed again.
What you need

Using a plastic opening tool, lift and remove the silver piece on the right side of the camera.

Use a plastic opening tool to push the tabs on each side of the front case forward.

Remove the front case.
