Use your thumb to push the battery cover off.

Lift the battery off the device.

Remove the five screws with a size 00 screwdriver. There are 4 in the corners and one on the top as shown.

Carefully remove the back cover by using the iPod Opening Tool in the slots on the bottom of the device.

Note: some force must be applied to remove back cover.

Ask FixBot
To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
