Introduction
Use this guide to replace the battery in your Samsung Galaxy A42.

If the phone is on, power it off by holding the side and volume down buttons, and selecting "Power off".

Be careful not to overheat the phone, as the plastic backing and internal components can get damaged if they get too hot.

Apply heat to one side of the phone to soften the adhesive holding the back cover on. Using a plastic pry tool or a pick, separate the back where you applied heat and cut the adhesive, leaving picks where you separate the back.

Repeat this process on all 4 sides of the back until the back is fully separated.

Remove the 15 Phillips #000 (1.5mm) screws on the midframe.

Starting at the 2 notches on both sides of the phone, undo the clips holding the midframe to the phone. Work your way along all sides until the clips are released.

Using a plastic spudger, disconnect the ribbon cable connecting the motherboard to the daughterboard and screen.

Using a plastic spudger, disconnect the battery cable from the motherboard.

Using a plastic spudger, disconnect the 5G wave antenna.

Be careful not to bend this cable too far if you move it to free the battery underneath.

Using a few drops of isopropyl alcohol, use a plastic pry tool to start releasing the adhesive under the battery. Add only a little alcohol to start, and work your way underneath, adding only a couple drops to free the adhesive.

To prevent fire or explosion, be careful not to puncture the battery when removing it, especially if the battery is bloated.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
