SAMSUNG A 12

1) opening the case is a challenge.

Remove the sim card with pin after you power off the phone!

After some prying with a pocket knife ( found bottom left corner , viewed from the phone front ...->was able to partial separate the case. With a helper, they inserted the stick pry tool in the crack and the with continuous inward pressure slide tool up along the crack to the top of phone. Back to pocket knife 2x- 3x more times to release additional aspects of case.

2)The videos are very useful.

3) The battery on my phone was held in with 2way tape. I used two coins, suggest dimes to pry battery bottom* (*opposite end of small battery connector) Then using picks on the sides as it very gradully opens up. I took me at close to a min. to gradually pry it out.

4)

I used a couple small peice of 2way tape on the new battery prior to installing it.

I owned a consumer electronics store and did a variety of electronics repairs.

Thought these details would be helpful.
