Introduction
If your Roku 2 is experiencing problems such as signal failures, freezes, or infinite boot loops, use this guide to replace the motherboard.
The motherboard is the main circuit board allows the Roku 2 to function properly and provides connections and communication to all other devices. A faulty motherboard could result in device shutdowns, overheating, and unresponsive controls.
Before starting this guide, ensure that the Roku 2's power supply is stable. A poor power connection could very well be the cause for random device shutdowns. Other good tests to attempt before replacing the motherboard would be a quick power cycle or a complete factory reset.
Once ready to continue with this guide, ensure to fully disconnect the Roku 2 from its power supply and allow it to cool down for a few minutes.

Heat up the iOpener for 30 seconds in the microwave and place across rubber pads on the back of the device.
