Place your helmet on a reliable, flat, sturdy surface to ensure an easy removal and replacement process.
Position the helmet so you can see the bowl part of the helmet.

Place your hand near the earhole padding; this is where you will find the cam-loc thumbscrew.
The thumbscrew is a black circular piece with a ridged border.
With two fingers, unscrew the thumbscrew until it detaches.
This is where you may use the optional Riddell Quick Release Tool if desired.
Make sure your free fingers are holding onto the cam-loc system. If not, the cam-loc system may fall from the helmet.
Pull the cam-loc system from the helmet and place it to the side.
