Introduction
Occasionally one Indy ANC earbud will stay powered off and not wake up. I discovered this method to reset it manually. This issue has occurred on both my and my friend’s Indy ANCs, so I’m guessing it is somewhat common.
I have never had this technique fail to reset the earbud. The issue has recurred with a total of 4 occurrences over 3 years of use, on both left and right earbuds.

Make sure the subject Indy ANC earbud will not wake up or charge when placed back in the charging case.

If not already done, thoroughly and carefully clean the earbud and charging case charging terminals with isopropyl alcohol and a swab. Do not allow free-flowing alcohol to enter the earbud or case.

Place the earbud back in the charging case to verify it is still unresponsive.

Do NOT allow the wires to touch each other for this procedure. Do NOT use a 9V cell.

Prepare 2 wires and fix them to the ends of a AA cell. Any AA-D size cell should work. For this, I used a non-coated paperclip. I straightened it, then bent in half. I continued flexing the paperclip wire until it broke into two pieces. Then I formed each wire with two bends.

Securely tape one wire end to the positive terminal with tape. Tape the other wire to the negative terminal, without the wires ever touching each other.

Align the wire ends so they will make good contact with the earbud charging terminals in the next step. You can tape the wires together to keep the exposed wire ends aligned.

Move the pair of wire ends toward the earbud charging terminals, preparing to make solid contact.

Touch the wire ends to the earbud terminals for only 2 seconds, then immediately disconnect them.

The earbud should now power up, charge, and function normally. If not, reverse the polarity by rotating the earbud 1/2 turn and touching each wire end to the opposite earbud terminal you tried before, again for only 2 seconds.

If the earbud still does not power up, check the wire connections to the battery. Good electrical contact is required at both the battery and earbud terminals. After checking and resetting the battery terminals connections, try the reset procedure again.

If you formed wires for this job, keep them for use again in the future.
