Introduction
Go to step 1 ↓This guide shows how to replace the lenses on Ray-Ban Meta Skyler RW4014 smart glasses by hand. The lenses are press-fitted into the rim groove and are not connected to the electronics, so no screwdriver, prying tool or heat is needed.
Before you start, check the code printed inside the temple arm: it should read RW4014, followed by the colour code and the size 52□20. Do not confuse it with the Skyler RW4010, which looks very similar but uses different lenses.
The frame contains a camera, LED, speakers, microphones and a battery. Switch the glasses off with the switch on the inside of the left temple arm and take them out of the charging case before you begin. Do not use the temple arms as levers and do not press on the camera or LED.

-
Open the temple arms and hold the glasses with the inside facing you. Hold the front of the frame firmly, close to the rim you are working on.
-
Place your thumb on the inside surface of the lens, near the hinge, and push the lens from the inside towards the outside with firm, gradual pressure until its edge comes out of the rim groove.
-
Do not insert a screwdriver or any other tool between the lens and the frame, do not use heat, and do not use the temple arms as levers.
-
Repeat the same process for the other lens.
-
-
-
With both lenses out, check that the groove on the inside of each rim is clean and free of dirt before fitting the new lenses.
-
Each lens belongs to one side, and its curved face must point outwards. Because of the Skyler's cat-eye shape, place each lens over the rim first and check that the outline matches before pressing it in.
-
-
-
Hold the glasses with the front facing you and position the correct lens over the rim. Seat one section of the outer edge in the groove first, near the hinge, and check that it sits correctly.
-
Keep pressing the lens edge into the groove gradually with your thumbs, working towards the nose area and along the bottom. Support the rim from behind with your other fingers so it does not flex unnecessarily.
-
Finish by seating the section of the edge that is still outside the groove. Once the lens is fully seated you will feel it held firmly in the frame. Repeat for the other lens.
-
-
-
-
Gently run your finger around the whole edge of each lens. The edge should sit inside the frame groove all the way round, with no visible gap. Pay particular attention to the upper outer cat-eye corner.
-
The lens must not rotate or move in the frame. If part of the edge is still outside the groove, press that section gently with your thumb until it is fully seated.
-
-
Switch the glasses back on and take a test photo or a short video to check that the camera and the other functions work normally. If a lens feels loose or rotates in the frame, check that its edge is fully seated in the groove, paying particular attention to the upper outer cat-eye corner.
