What you need

      • Start by detaching the display unit from the keyboard base. Turn the laptop's display unit over so the bottom is facing up.

      • There are eight screws securing the back cover: Four along the bottom edge and Four along the top edge, hidden under a small cover

      • Use the rounded end of a spudger or a plastic opening pick to carefully remove the small top cover.

      • Remove all eight screws and keep them separate and organized to avoid mixing them.

      • Before continuing, disconnect the battery to prevent electrical damage.

      • The battery connector is located around the SSD and has multiple colored wires. Carefully peel back the thermal tape covering the connector.

      • Gently pull the connector straight out of the socket, pushing evenly from both sides. It may be slightly stiff due to the wire tension.

      • Once disconnected, press and hold the power button on the right side for about 5 seconds to discharge any remaining power.

      • The SSD is located next to the battery and is secured with one screw and thermal tape.

      • Move the thermal tape away from the retaining screw, then remove the screw.

      • The SSD will pop up at an angle of about 45 degrees. Slide the SSD out of the slot to remove it.

      • To install a replacement SSD, insert it at the same angle, push it fully into the slot, then press it down and secure it with the screw.
