Whilst tearing down my PCH-2016 model PS Vita Slim I have noticed that there is also a screw in the cartridge area that needs to be removed to remove the back panel.
The touchpad cable isn't able to be re-attached if you do this so your vita just ends up becoming permanently crippled. DO NOT FOLLOW THIS GUIDE.
@polocatfan yes it can? just needs some good technique
@squirrelmuncher can 100% confirm it's impossible. I tried for hours.
@polocatfan I just did the entire thing and removed the cable. All you have to do is make sure the latch is lifted up on the board. They should have included it in the instructions but you need to lift up the tiny brown latch so you can slide the cable back in then put the latch down. If the latch is up all it requires is steady hands and some good lighting
