Open Siemens EQ500

Introduction

Go to step 1 ↓

Most repairs require opening the device. The housing is held together by a few screws and many clips. You will need patience and some strength.

What you need

      • Never forget: Unplug the machine!

      • Remove the four long Torx T10 screws on the front.

      • Push the right side panel back a little and remove it.

      • Now the top cover must be removed. It is secured with numerous clips. The clips on the water tank side are difficult to open.

      • Image 1 shows the four clips on the water tank side for reference. They are difficult to reach, especially the two at the front, which require some force, but they can still break off. The cover will still hold securely.

      • Image 2 shows the clips in the curve for the water tank. They are still easy to reach from the inside.

      • This clip in image 2 is one of three on the back that are easy to reach. See image 3 for more.

      • Start at the rear to release the clips. To do this, you need to push them quite far inwards with a suitable tool or your fingers while levering the upper cover upwards with a plastic tool. Finally, you need a little force and dexterity to remove the cover at the front on the water tank side.

      • If you want to remove the cover completely, you will need to disconnect the white connector of the display from the circuit board. However, if the cover does not get in the way, you can also leave it loose on top.

      • Images 1 and 2 show the robust clips that secure the side panel. To release them, press them inwards.

      • You can access these two clips through the slots on the base plate.

      • Place the machine on its side and press the two catches inwards from the underside.

      • Remove the side panel by using a little force. Do not remove it completely, as it is still connected to cables and hoses.

      • The work is easier if you release the catch at the bottom of the black water level sensor and slide the sensor out. Disconnect the hoses from the small white flow meter, pull out the flow meter, and the cover is now released.
