Introduction
If the keys on your NuPhy Halo 65 aren't registering, it is likely that your key switches are in need of replacement. Additionally, wear-and-tear will usually cause the pins of the switches to bend over time, resulting in inconsistent actuation of the keys or flat-out unresponsiveness.
The key switch is the individual mechanism located under each keycap that registers keystrokes. They determine the keyboard's durability and overall performance. Unlike membrane keyboards, they are designed using plastic stems and metal contacts to offer distinct sensory input, sound, and a precise trigger threshold.
Faulty key switches are not the only reasons for unresponsive keys. It is important to make sure you've checked all the other possibilities before deciding to replace the switches. Here are the troubleshooting steps to look over before going ahead with the replacement.
Before starting, remember to unplug and switch off the keyboard.
