Introduction
This guide instructs a user on how to remove and replace the battery from the Nikon Coolpix 5400. The battery should be removed before any other deconstruction takes place to ensure that the device does not have any power and the user does not receive any electrical shocks.
No tools are required for this replacement.
What you need

Turn the camera so that the base is oriented facing up and the front of the camera is facing towards you.

Push the battery compartment door latch, located on the right-hand side of the camera, away from you to release the catch.

Release the latch and pull your hand away. The spring inside the compartment will push both the battery up and the door open.

Push the battery door the rest of the way open to fully expose the battery.

Grasp the battery with your thumb and forefinger and pull up and out of the camera housing.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
