What battery should I buy? Can you provide any specs about the battery itself?
The Mio support team tells: “Unfortunatley, ALPHA 2 doesn't have replacable batteries “.
Any idea where we can buy such battery ?
hi i managed to purchase the battery and replace it via Ali Express website. Search for battery size 302530 3.7v 300 mah Lithium . Thickness 3mm, width 25mm, length 30mm.
Take note when you replace the battery the wire that comes with the new battery wire will be too thick to insert into the mini small white clip. What i did was to cut off the old wire from the old battery and connect it with the new battery wire.
Very helpful, thank you for posting this. It's not really any harder than replacing a watch battery, you just have to special-order the replacement.
On mine, the gasket under the case back seems to have deteriorated. I'm planning to use (the tiniest possible amount of) liquid gasket around the perimeter of the case before replacing the case back.
I'm now waiting for the battery (302530), from Amazon. I ordered this one, at random, among my $8 choices of 302530 batteries on Amazon:

If the plug on the new battery doesn't fit (or is set up for the wrong polarity) I'll do what an earlier commenter suggested and just cut off the new connector and solder in the old one.
