Metal Backpack Clasp Replacement

Introduction

When the clasp on your backpack breaks, you may find that you can't adjust the strap length properly, the strap might even come off completely, or your backpack becomes less functional overall. Luckily, repairing or replacing the clasp is a task you can easily fix yourself. By replacing the clasp, you can extend the life of your backpack and avoid having to purchase a replacement.

Here's a simple guide to help you get your backpack functioning again, as good as new!

What you need

      • Locate the broken metal clasp.

      • Locate the thread on the strap holding the metal clasp together.

      • Rip the thread using a seam ripper by cutting in a perpendicular direction.

      • Re-stitch the strap using a needle and thread following the holes of the original stitch.
