Introduction
If your Maxi-Cosi Zelia stroller brake does not lock securely, feels loose, or does not release smoothly, the internal return spring inside the rear brake hub may be worn or damaged. Use this guide to access the rear brake hub and replace the internal spring.
The rear brake hub contains a return spring that releases the wheel locking mechanism. If the spring loses tension or breaks, the brake pedal may not properly control the locking system.
Before beginning this repair, inspect the brake pedal and wheel for visible obstructions or debris that may be preventing proper movement. Test the brake by engaging and releasing it several times to confirm that the issue is mechanical and not caused by dirt or misalignment.
This guide requires opening the brake hub housing and handling a small tension spring. Work carefully to avoid losing internal components.
Before starting, make sure the stroller is empty and placed on a stable surface to prevent movement during the repair.
