MSI VR601 WiFi card Replacement

What you need

      • Start by taking out the battery and charger. No power should be connected.

      • Unscrew the 4 Phillips #1 screws marked in the photo.

      • This screw is hidden under the Warranty void sticker!

      • All screws are the same length, so don't worry about mixing them up

      • Use a spudger or your finger to gently but firmly open the cover.

      • It's stuck in there with clips, so be a little careful. (Remember; If you feel like you're using too much force, you probably are).

      • The WiFi card has two antenna cables (one white and one black).

      • Use a spudger to carefully unhook the antenna contacts.

      • Unscrew the Phillips #0 screw holding the WiFi card down. (This is not the same screw as the others).

      • Take the old card out of the mini PCI Express slot, and replace with a new and compatible card.

      • In my case I only had a direct replacement, which only supports 802.11b/g standards.
