This guide will show you how to take apart and replace the locking hinge on a MACTREM tripod leg. while I am replacing a locking hinge, this guide shows how to replace and maintenance any piece of the leg.

What you need

  1. MACTREM Camera Tripod Leg Locking Hinge Replacement, Leg Locking Hinge: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • Clean the leg that's damaged/needs maintenance.

    • Extend the part of the leg you will replace and/or clean.

    • Use the center punch and hammer to tap the pin out of the locking mechanism hinge.

    • Remove the locking mechanism lever.

    • Remove the leg piece from the main body.

    • Use the center punch and hammer to tap the pin out of the locking hinge on the opposite side of the damaged leg.

    • Remove the lever from the locking mechanism.

    • Slide the locking hinge off the broken leg.
