Introduction
This guide will take you step by step on removing an external battery from a ThinkPad X260 Lenovo laptop. The external battery keeps the laptop on and working. This part might need to be replaced after 2-3 years. If the computer does not turn on after charging, then the first step will be to buy an external battery replacement for the laptop. Another reason to replace the battery will be if the laptop does not charge to 100%. You will also need to remove the external battery if you need to access the internals of the laptop. Make sure the computer is turned off before removing the external battery.

Start by pinching the switches on either side of the battery outwards.

At the same time push the external battery, located in the back, upwards.

Remove the external battery from the laptop.
