This guide will take you through the steps to replace a damaged screen for the Lenovo IdeaPad U450.

What you need

1. Step 1 Battery
  Turn off and unplug your laptop to prevent the risk of electrocution.
  
  Turn your laptop over so that the bottom is face up.

  On the top left of the laptop there is a switch. Make sure it's pushed in the unlocked position.

  Locate the switch collinear with the last one and move the switch to an unlocked position.

  Remove the unlocked battery.

1. Step 5 Screen
  Open the laptop.

  Remove the four 7mm phillips head screws in the corners of the screen with a Phillips #00 Screwdriver.

  Pry the screen out of the tabs with a spudger.

  Remove the four 7mm phillips head screws located beneath the screen.

  Pop out the connector that links the screen to the motherboard.

  Pop the new screen into the connector.
