Introduction
If your G500 becomes slow, swapping the processor for a better one may well be an option.
Before starting the repair, switch off the device and unplug all plugs.
Be sure to use an ESD underlay mat or an ESD bracelet.
Be careful when handling the battery, if it is already swollen you need to take precautions.

First you have to release the "lock" for the battery. You can do this by simply pushing the two sliders in the direction of the arrows.

Now you can pull the battery out and up. It might be a little tight, so feel free to use a little more force.

After the battery is removed, you can easily loosen the two screws shown using a Phillips screwdriver.

Now you can easily slide off the back cover in the direction of the arrows.

You can then remove it by lifting upwards.

As soon as you remove the back cover, you can see the fan and heatsink.

Now remove the three screws marked in red with a Phillips screwdriver.

Now, carefully remove the Heatsink/Fan assembly in the direction of the red arrow, be careful of the cooling fins, they are easily deformed.

Lift with a sideways motion toward the interior of the device to clear the radiating fins from the case.

To remove the processor you must turn the screw marked in red 180 degrees. The pin should point to the opened lock.

You can then remove the processor.

Reverse the steps to reassemble your device.
