Introduction
Go to step 1 ↓This guide gives a step-by-step instructions for the removal and replacement of a CD drive for a Lenovo laptop, model G70-80. Following the directions outlined below should take approximated five minutes from beginning to completion. The end outcome is a working CD drive for the Lenovo laptop, model G70-80.

Locate a Phillips head screwdriver. Use the screwdriver to remove the 2 screws found on the backside of the Lenovo G70-80. Once both of these screws are removed you will be able to remove the back of the laptop.

Next, you will need to locate the CD drive. If you orient the laptop with the hinge facing you, the CD drive will be in the bottom right corner near the battery.

Once all of the hardware in the previous steps is removed, you will be able to pull the CD drive directly out of the laptop.

Reassembly should be equally as easy as the disassembly. Follow the directions step by step in reverse order to reassemble the Lenovo G70-80 with your new CD drive.
