What you need

    • To power off your device, hold down the power button until the "Powered off" screen appears as shown.

    • Stick a plastic spudger into the gap between the front bezel and the back cover.

    • The back cover is held on by small plastic notches.

    • Slide the spudger along the seam to release the back cover.

    • Pry all the way around until the back cover pops free.

    • Gently pry up the white battery connector to pop it out of its bracket.

    • Flip up the black tabs on the three ZIF connectors to release the ribbon cables.

    • The smallest connector, under the big cable, has the black locking tab facing towards the cable.

    • Slide the ribbon cables out of the ZIF sockets.

    • The battery is stuck down with strong double-sided tape and secured by a bracket moulded into the back cover.

    • All the storage is on a microSD card hidden inside the device.

    • Swap it out at your own risk.

    • Use a Phillips #00 screwdriver to remove the 4 screws securing the logic board.

    • Lift the logic board out from the top of the device.

    • There is a black sheet of plastic that sits under the logic board.

    • To reassemble your device, follow these steps in reverse order.

    • Pro tip: when closing the plastic housing, squeeze it shut close to the edges to avoid putting too much pressure on the display.
