Introduction
A record player can play music due to a variety of mechanisms. The contact of the stylus against a rotating record creates vibrations, these are converted into electrical signals which are then converted into sound. This all goes back to the motor. Without the motor, the record can't turn. Therefor replacement is necessary if the motor breaks. The Jensen 230 record player carries a 9/12 V DC motor. It is located inside the record player. Removal of the motor is fairly simple, however, some some further soldering work is necessary to replace the motor entirely.
What you need

Take off metal piece holding the platter in place using pliers or another similar tool.

Gently but firmly pull the turntable platter off the axle.

After removal of the turntable platter, 3 small screws can be seen. Remove the 3 screws which hold the motor in place.

On both the right and left side, there are 3 screws, remove each of them.

Gently Pull the top off of the sides and flip over to reveal the circuitry.

To remove the top entirely, remove each electrical connection with a pair of tweezers. There are 3, each connecting to the speakers.

Remove the Motor from the record player

Using a soldering iron, remove the motor from the circuitry.

Replace motor with new one.
