Introduction
Follow this guide if you need to replace the USB-C Charging Port in your JBL Clip 4.
What you need
-
-
Get a tool to pry the front grill off, ideally using one of the iFixit tools. This is required as the front grill is glued onto the device.
-
-
-
First, you must unscrew the 5 Phillip head screws (6mm) around the edge of the device.
-
-
-
-
The battery connects into the motherboard, and it is inside the black box shaped part that has a cable connecting into the motherboard. You must disconnect the cable connecting the battery to the motherboard.
-
-
-
At the bottom of the front housing is the USB-C Charging Port. It is held together by two Phillip head screws (3mm) on the left and right of the USB-C Charging Port. You need to remove the screws with a 0 Phillips head screwdriver.
-
Now you can remove the USB-C Charging Port.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order. Take your e-waste to an R2 or e-Stewards certified recycler.
