Introduction
Use this guide to replace a damaged AMOLED screen assembly on the Huawei Watch GT 2. Accessing the screen requires opening the rear case by removing the outer Torx screws, disconnecting internal flex cables from the motherboard, and unseating the screen assembly. Since the display seats onto an internal rubber grommet gasket rather than relying purely on liquid glue, reassembly requires careful alignment to ensure the screen sits flush without crushing internal cables.
This repair is rated as Moderate. Unlike smartwatches that require heavy heating and messy adhesive scraping, the Huawei Watch GT 2's rubber grommet design makes physically seating the screen simpler. However, extreme care is required when opening the rear case and unhooking fragile ZIF/BTB ribbon cable connectors from the motherboard. Additionally, taking apart the casing will compromise the watch's original factory water-resistance rating.
