Introduction
If your food processor hums, spins slowly or fails to start, the start capacitor inside its asynchronous motor is likely weak. Replacing this inexpensive part restores full starting torque and saves an otherwise healthy appliance. Follow this guide to safely swap the capacitor and return your processor to service.

Step 1 Disconnect power and stabilise the appliance

Place the heavy machine on a stable work surface before opening the housing.

Step 2 Remove the base cover

Remove the three security Torx screws that hold the base to the motor block.

Lift the housing straight up and off the motor assembly.

Step 3 Identify the start capacitor

Locate the cylindrical start capacitor next to the thermal overload protector.

Step 5 Remove the faulty capacitor

Cut the existing cable tie and pull the spade connectors off the old capacitor.

Lift the capacitor out of its bracket and set it aside for recycling.

Step 6 Install the replacement capacitor

Slide the new 35 µF capacitor into the original bracket with the terminals facing up.

Reconnect each wire to the same terminals using the photo as reference.

Secure the capacitor with a fresh cable tie, keeping the tie clear of nearby wires.

Trim the excess tail of the tie so it cannot interfere with moving parts.

Step 7 Arrange wiring inside the base

Route all leads back into their original channels so nothing will be pinched by the cover.

Step 8 Reassemble the housing

Align the cover with the motor block and lower it into place without forcing.

Reinstall the three security Torx screws and tighten them evenly.

Step 9 Test the repaired processor

Plug the appliance in and run it briefly to verify the motor now starts quickly and smoothly.
