Introduction
Replacing a worn or cracked screen protector keeps your phone’s original glass safe from scratches and impacts. Follow this guide to clean the device, prepare a dust-free surface, and apply a new protective glass for a clear, bubble-free finish that lasts.
What you need
-
Step 1 Remove and wash the case
-
Slide the phone out of its protective case.
-
Clean the case with warm water and a small amount of mild soap, then allow it to dry completely.
-
-
Step 2 Clean the earpiece speaker grill
-
Rub a soft pencil eraser gently across the earpiece grill to pull out packed dirt.
-
-
Step 3 Wipe the phone exterior with alcohol
-
Wipe the screen and body with a microfiber cloth lightly moistened with cleaning alcohol.
-
Work around the edges until all visible smudges disappear.
-
-
Step 4 Clean tight ports and buttons
-
Dip a cotton swab in alcohol, press off excess, then lightly sweep around buttons, speakers, and the charging port.
-
-
Step 5 Prepare a dust-free workspace
-
Turn off fans and avoid activities that stir up lint or dust in the room.
-
-
Step 6 Remove the old screen protector
-
Hook a fingernail under one corner of the old protector and peel it away from the display.
-
-
Step 7 Clean the bare screen with the wet wipe
-
Use the moist wipe supplied in the protector kit to thoroughly clean the display, especially around the bezels.
-
-
Step 8 Dry and polish the screen
-
Buff the glass with the dry wipe from the kit until all moisture is gone.
-
Follow with a high quality microfiber cloth to polish the surface without leaving lint.
-
Tilt the phone and inspect; the screen must be completely free of dust and fingerprints.
-
-
Step 9 Lift remaining dust with the removal sticker
-
Tap the supplied dust-removal sticker across the display to pick up any last specks.
-
-
Step 10 Expose the adhesive side of the new protector
-
Peel the film from the side marked for the screen to reveal the adhesive surface.
-
-
Step 11 Align and lower the protector
-
Position the glass over the display so the cut-outs align with the camera and sensors.
-
Lower the protector slowly onto the screen.
-
-
Step 12 Bond the glass and remove bubbles
-
Press the center of the protector so the adhesive spreads to the edges.
-
Wrap a microfiber cloth around a finger and push any air pockets toward the sides until they disappear.
-
-
Step 13 Reinstall the case and finish up
-
Give the glass a final wipe, then snap the phone back into its clean, dry case.
-
Your phone now sports a spotless, perfectly aligned screen protector, ready to guard the display against daily wear and accidental drops. Keep the dust-removal sticker handy for quick touch-ups, and enjoy a crystal-clear view.
