Introduction

The MNT Reform keyboard firmware is available in the reform2-keyboard-fw folder of the Reform repository.

Before starting, on your Reform, download it:

git clone git@source.mnt.re:reform/reform.git

Navigate to the keyboard firmware folder:

cd reform/reform2-keyboard-fw/

And compile it:

make

What you need

1. Step 1 Unscrew the keyboard frame
  Remove the following screws securing the keyboard frame to the main box:
  
  Six black M2×5mm countersunk Philips screws

2. Step 2 Remove the keyboard frame
  Lift the top of the keyboard frame and pull it out towards the screen.
  
  Your Reform should now look like this.
  
  When re-assembling the Reform, insert the bottom of the keyboard frame into the main box before pressing it down. If the frame is not straight, very gently un-warp it, section by section with both hands close together.
  
  Don't bend it with both hands on opposite ends of the frame — you'll likely twist it, especially the thinnest parts around the OLED display!

4. Step 3 Set the SW84 switch to ON
  Using a spudger or your fingernail, set the SW84 switch to ON.
  
  The SW84 programming DIP switch is located near the F4 key of the keyboard, and to the left of the OLED display.

5. Step 4
  Before you move on to the next step, you need to make sure you will be able to enter the ./flash.sh command without using the Reform's keyboard.
  
  You have two options:
  
  Connect an external USB keyboard.
  
  Copy the ./flash.sh command followed by a new line in your text editor, so that you can paste it and run it without the use of a keyboard.
  
  The script needs to be run as root, so make sure that you are using a root shell, or that sudo will not ask you to enter a password.

6. Step 5 Press the SW83 button
  Press the SW83 reset button, located right under the DIP switch from the previous step.

7. Step 6 Flash the keyboard firmware
  Run ./flash.sh as root.
