To Unlock a Brother Printer Stuck After a Firmware Update Failure Without Paying for the Repair.
-You have to connect your printer via the USB port to a PC or MAC.
-Obtain the "firmware update tool" file for your printer, here is the US Support page with download and instructions.
-Plug the Brother printer into power.
-Launch the "BRMain" file on the PC/MAC.
In general the block disappears, i.e. 120€ of savings.
To reassemble your device, follow the instructions in reverse order. But you REALLY didn't need to disassemble it for this repair...
