Introduction
Use this guide to clear the i30 error code on a Frigidaire Gallery dishwasher. The i30 code can appear when water collects in the drain pan under the dishwasher and lifts the styrofoam float. When that float rises, the dishwasher may keep the pump running to prevent water from overflowing into the kitchen. This can happen alongside an i20 code, especially if the dishwasher overfilled or didn't drain properly.
What you need
-
Step 1 Power down the dishwasher
-
Unplug the dishwasher or switch off the dishwasher circuit breaker so the unit can't turn on while you work.
-
-
Step 2 Disconnect the unit if needed
-
Disconnect the water supply line and drain line if you need to pull the dishwasher out from under the cabinets.
-
-
Step 3 Remove the filter and cover
-
Open the dishwasher and remove the filter and its cover from the bottom of the tub.
-
Remove any standing water from inside the dishwasher before working under the unit.
-
-
Step 5 Move the side insulation
-
Find the insulation on the side of the dishwasher near the base.
-
Lift the insulation out of the way by releasing it from the clips that hold it in place.
-
-
Step 6 Inspect the drain pan and float
-
Look into the drain pan beneath the dishwasher for standing water.
-
-
Step 7 Dry the drain pan
-
Use a shop vac or paper towels to remove the water from the drain pan.
-
Dry the pan as well as you can so the styrofoam float can drop back down.
-
-
Step 8 Reassemble the dishwasher
-
Clip the side insulation back into place.
-
Reinstall the filter cover and filter in the bottom of the dishwasher.
-
Reconnect the water supply line and drain line if you disconnected them.
-
-
Step 9 Restore power and test the dishwasher
-
Restore power to the dishwasher.
-
Run the dishwasher and confirm the i30 code is cleared and the pump no longer keeps running.
-
The i30 code should clear once the drain pan is dry and the float drops back down. If the code returns, the dishwasher may still be leaking, overfilling, or failing to drain correctly. Repair didn't go as planned? Ask our Answers community for help.
