If you have a wooden chair with the armrest broken or loose, follow these simple steps to fix it. The steps are easy to follow and you are not going to need many tools to fix it. The tools that you can use to fix the armrest are easy to find in any hardware stores, or you might even have them in your house.

The processes will take 5 to 20 minutes to complete, but if you are not used to fixing things at home it may take longer than that. There are no requirements to execute these steps. Anybody can do the this fix.

Remove the armrest from the chair using a hex wrench screwdriver and a drill to remove the screws.
You can also use a screwdriver instead of a drill.

Sand just the inside tip of the armrest as shown.

Apply a little bit of glue on the part that you sanded.
It is fine if you do not want to use glue.

Put the screw washer on the screw.

Insert the screw inside the hole on the inside of the chair body.
Have another person attach the armrest and then screw it with your hand.

Insert the screw into the end of the armrest, attaching it to the edge of the back of the chair using a drill.
You may also use a screwdriver instead of a drill.
