Introduction
Does your flat iron not heat up as well as it used to? Does your flat iron have buildup from all the hair product you use? Use this guide to remove accumulated buildup on the plates of your flat iron and improve its heating capabilities.
What you need

Lay out your cloth over your working surface.

Set flat iron aside.
Ask FixBot

Add the hydrogen peroxide to the bowl containing the baking soda and stir until a thick paste is formed.

The consistency of the paste should be similar to a thick and grainy toothpaste.

Smear a thick layer of the paste onto the plates of the iron.

Let sit for 5 minutes.

Wipe off the excess but not ALL of the paste with the sponge into the small bowl.

Use your cloth or sponge to scrub the plates of the flat iron until all the buildup is removed.

This process may take 2-5 minutes depending on the amount of buildup on your iron.

Once all of the buildup is removed, wipe off all the remaining paste into your bowl.

Dispose the baking soda paste into a sink or trash can.

Your Flat Iron is now clean!
