Included in this guide is a detailed description of how to remove the strings, and how to secure them to the bridge and the tuning pegs. This guide assumes the reader already has basic knowledge on the mechanics of a ukulele and the functions of each part.

**It is imperative that you are aware of the type of ukulele you have so you can purchase the correct strings. This guide is performed on a concert ukulele, but is still applicable for soprano and tenor ukuleles.

Unwind and clip the strings.
Remove the strings.

The string order for a right handed ukulele is G-C-E-A, so we will put the strings in the reverse order for left handed people, A-E-C-G.
Feed the new strings through the holes in the bridge.

Leave approximately 4 inches so you are able to tie the knot.
To tie the strings in a double knot, make a loose knot with the strings.
Feed the string back through the opening (as seen in the second image).
Once it is fed through the opening, pull it tight.
Tug on the string to ensure it is secure to the bridge.

Once the strings are secured to the bridge, feed the strings through their corresponding tuning peg holes.
Wrap it around outwardly.
Feed it through the tuning peg again for a tighter fit.

Ensure that the strings are wrapped around the tuning pegs from the inside out.

Once the strings have been secured to their tuning pegs, wind each tuning peg in a counter-clockwise direction.
Wind each string roughly 15-20 times, or until the strings are tight and no longer loose.
Finally, tune your ukulele, and you're done!
