How To Remove the Battery Back Plate

Introduction

Go to step 1 ↓

This guide will assist you with your JVC GR-D290U camera. In trouble shooting issues with your camera, you may want to start with the battery. This guide will offer you step by step instructions on how to remove the battery back plate so that you may observe the condition of the battery. Some reasons you may need to replace your battery may include reduced performance, product inconsistency with charging or battery dying without warning, physical damage, and age of the battery. If you are able to observe physical damage such as leaks, bulges, or corrosion this would be an immediate signal that you need to replace the battery. In such cases, it's essential to replace the battery promptly to prevent any potential damage to the camera.

There should always be precautions taking while handling batteries. First be sure the camera is off, make sure the battery terminals are clean and free from any rust. Use batteries that are only approved for this camera. Do not expose batteries to any excessive heat or flame.

To change the batteries, you may need a screwdriver, plastic prying tool to remove batteries from its compartment, gloves especially if leaking to protect your hands from any chemicals, isopropyl alcohol and cotton swabs to clean any corrosion that may be found when removing previous batteries.
