Introduction
The water container, also called the water tank, water reservoir, or condensate container, collects water removed from clothes during drying. Empty it before it becomes full, when the Empty Water light appears, or during routine maintenance. A full container can stop the dryer from working. This guide was written for the Hotpoint Aquarius Tumble Dryer model TCHL73; other models may have small differences.
What you need
-
Step 1 Prepare the dryer safely
-
Switch the dryer off at the power supply.
-
Unplug the dryer before removing the water container.
-
-
Step 2 Know when to empty the container
-
Empty the water container when it contains water, when the Empty Water light appears, or before it becomes completely full.
-
-
Step 3 Remove the water container
-
Stand in front of the dryer and locate the water container in the top-left corner.
-
Pull the water container straight out of its slot.
-
Keep the container level as you carry it to a sink.
-
-
Step 4 Empty the water container
-
Pour the water into a sink.
-
Use the smaller hole in the corner of the container to drain the last drops.
-
Check that the container is completely empty.
-
-
Step 6 Restore power and check operation
-
Plug the dryer back in and switch it on at the power supply.
-
Start a drying cycle only after the water container is empty and fully installed.
-
If the dryer still shows an Empty Water warning, empty and reinstall the container again before continuing.
-
Keep the water container empty so the dryer can run without interruption, and make sure it slides back in without force before restoring power. Repair didn't go as planned? Ask our Answers community for help.
