    • Although the AED may power off automatically, make sure the device is not in use and is turned off.

    • Locate the battery compartment on the back of the AED.

    • Press the release tab and gently remove the old battery.

    • Align the new battery with the compartment, ensuring correct orientation.

    • Slide the battery into the compartment until it clicks into place.

    • Switch on the AED using the power button and wait for the device to initialize. Most AEDs have a self-test feature that automatically checks the device’s functionality and battery status. Follow any on-screen prompts or instructions to complete the self-test.

    • If the self-test indicates any issues, refer to the user manual or contact the manufacturer for further assistance.
