Introduction

Follow this guide to replace the rear head strap on a HTC Vive Focus virtual reality headset.

What you need

Step 1 Unscrew the head strap mounts

Use a T6 Torx screwdriver to remove the four 4.6 mm screws securing the rear head strap, two on each side.

Step 2 Disconnect the rear head strap

Remove the plastic cover from the rear head strap mount.
Lift the rear head strap off of the two pegs securing it to the mount.
Repeat for the remaining side of the rear head strap.
During reassembly, be careful not to install the rear head strap upside-down. The adjustment knob on the back of the head strap should be on top.
