This guide provides a step by step procedure to replace the keyboard of your HP Pavilion x360 14-ba253cl. All of the keys of the keyboard are connected in this model, so to fix any number of keys you must remove the entire keyboard. You might have to replace the keyboard if the buttons or the touch-pad are unresponsive or in cases of liquid spills. For this procedure, you will need a screwdriver along with 6 mm and 4 mm screw bits, an opening pick, and a spudger. This is a very straightforward procedure that does not require expertise in electronics.

Use the Jimmy to remove the footpads located at the bottom of the laptop.

Remove three 4.0mm Phillips #0 screws from the top of the cover.

Remove two 6.0mm Phillips #0 screws underneath each of the back footpads.

Remove one 4.mm Phillips #0 screw beneath the divot.

Turn the computer onto its base, with the computer open and the keys facing upward.

Raise the keyboard slightly to gain access to the touch pad and keyboard cables.

Using a spudger, lift up the plastic locks that connect the ribbon cable to the system board.

Use the blue plastic tab on the ribbon cable to pull it out from the system board.

Remove the keyboard from the laptop.
