HP Pavilion dv6500 CD/DVD Drive Replacement

In this guide, I'll show you how to replace the CD/DVD drive on your HP Pavilion dv6500.

What you need

  1. HP Pavilion dv6500 CD/DVD Drive Replacement, CD/DVD Drive: step 1, image 1 of 1

    • Shut your laptop down (if possible), close the lid, then flip the laptop over.

    • Remove the battery by unlatching it.

    • Unscrew the screw near a donut-shaped icon. The icon should not be 3 discs, as that's the HDD screws.

    • Now, pull gently on the CD/DVD drive.

    • Be careful not to bend the drive!
