Introduction
Has your HP Pavilion dm4-2015dx keyboard been malfunctioning lately? Sticky keys, broken keys, missing keys, or just not working at all? You’ve come to the right guide to get it fixed. A keyboard is necessary to keep your device in use. Without it, you can’t type or use commands to control your Laptop. It is important to have a working keyboard, especially when it comes to general use like work, school, or communications. This guide will show you how to replace your laptop keyboard. With a little bit of patience, your keyboard should be working well again.

Turn off the device, disconnect it from all power, and remove the battery.

Remove the two highlighted screws to release the memory cover.

Remove the two highlighted screws to release the hardware cover.

Remove the two screws highlighted in the 2nd image to release the hard drive cover.

Remove the screws (as shown in pic), these two screws secure the HP keyboard.

Use a flathead screwdriver to release the highlighted keyboard tabs with ease.

Turn the device right-side up and pull the keyboard frame upward along the top row of keys. There are Four (4) protruding male clips that engage along this top edge. Use a flathead screwdriver or similar tool to pry the keyboard from the frame.

Locate and remove the lockdown cable and unlock the keyboard cables. When prying the keyboard up, you will find resistance as a small 2 inch x 1/4 inch strip of double face tape is used to further hold the keyboard in place. (Depending upon the age of the laptop, it may require additional pulling strength to break the tapes bond.)

Slide out the keyboard cable and install a new HP Pavilion DM4 keyboard.

To reassemble your device, follow these instructions in reverse order.
